1 LPC: Lahore Polo Club, LGS&PC: Lahore Garrison Saddle & Polo Club, RGPC: Rawalpindi Garrison Polo Club and MGS&PC: Malir Garrison Saddle & Polo Club.
2 Dates of Army Polo, Tent Pegging Championships, COAS Polo Cup, Dressage and Show Jumping Championships were proposed by GHQ, Army Sports Directorate vide their letter number 6874/163/AS Dte-ICPHXY dated 01 July 2016.


    Notes

  1. Exact dates of tournaments will be fixed by respective clubs and intimated to PPA. The clubs may postpone/cancel tournaments due to inclement weather but must intimate PPA.
  2. Tournaments may be converted into exhibition matches with intimation by the club to PPA.
  3. Participation

    1. Each team must have a minimum of 2 Officers / equivalent in all PPA tournaments
    2. For Army Polo Championship / COAS Polo Cup, each team should have 2x Army Officers (Auth: APEC AGM held on 28 June 2013).
    3. Handicap of COAS Polo Cup is 0-4 (Auth: APEC Meeting held on 12 Sep 2014).
    4. PAF Team can participate in COAS Polo Cup (Auth: APEC Meeting held on 8 Sep 2015).
    5. 3x Show Jumpers from each zone will participate in Show Jumping and Dressage Championships.
    6. Participation of 1x Army Officer is mandatory in each team in Tent Pegging Championship.
    7. Participation of 2x cadets is mandatory in each team in Inter Academy Polo Tournament. (PPA ECM held on 21 Jun 2012).
    8. COAS Polo Cup, Army Polo Championship and Other Army Events for 2 x Weeks(Auth: APEC Meeting held on 5 May 2017).
  4. Lahore Tournaments

    1. Low Goals Tournaments (0-4 Goals). To be played concurrently with 6-10 goals and above tournaments except Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup.
    2. Concurrent Tournaments. Players may participate in only one tournament (either high or low goals) at a time in the same club (Auth: PPA AGM held on 3 May 99).
  5. Sanctioned Tournaments

    These consist of tournaments which are sanctioned by the PPA but managed by the relevant Club on their own and all statistics of these tournaments shall be considered as official statistics for the purpose of PPA record.
  6. During the tenure of any PPA Sanctioned tournament, clubs will not organize and schedule local club tournaments of more than 4 goals handicap.
  7. All polo matches will be played according to HPA Rules 2016 (Auth: PPA EECM held on 18 Feb 2017).
  8. Foreign Professional Players – (Authority: PPA AGM held on 6 May 2017)

    1. A foreigner player with handicap of 2 goals and above will be considered as foreign professional.
    2. Tournaments with top limit of 6, 8 and 10 goals - One 4 goal foreign player.
    3. Tournament with top limit of 12 goals - One foreign player of Any Handicap.
    4. Tournaments with top limit of 14 goals - Two foreign players. One player of Any Handicap and the second player of Not More Than 4 goals.
    5. Meeting between PPA Chairman and the Patrons will be held in last week of December 2017 at Lahore Polo Club. President LPC will organize the meeting. In case the Patrons are unable to field minimum 6 x teams (excluding Army team) in high goal tournaments (with top limit of 14 goals) then previous rule ie One Foreign Professional Polo Player will be implemented in light of PPA AGM held on 9 Sep 2015.
  9. Final Remarks by the House

    1. PPA Chairman Meeting with the Patrons will be held in 4th week December 2017 or January 2018 at Lahore Polo Club. President LPC will organize the meeting.
    2. If Patrons are unable to field minimum 6 x teams (excluding ‘Army’) in high goal tournaments (with top limit of 14 goals) then previous rule ie One x Foreign Professional Polo Player will be implemented in light of PPA AGM held on 9 Sep 2015.
  10. Inter Clubs Polo Championship(Auth: PPA ECM held on 29 June 2013)

    1. Inter Clubs Polo Championship will be played at LGS & PC.
    2. Handicap of Polo Tournament will be 0-4.
    3. It is mandatory for all functioning clubs to participate.
    4. Individual handicap of a player will not exceed 2 goals.
    5. LGS & PC will issue the instructions and make arrangements.
  11. A pony played by one team cannot be played by another team in the same tournament.
  12. Substitution of Player (Auth: PPA Executive Committee Meeting held on 20 August 2010)

    The house decided that substitution will be governed under HPA Rules. It was also decided that any query in future will be referred to Rules Revision Sub Committee, which will decide in accordance with the relevant rules from HPA/PPA.
  13. All matches to be played of 4 chukkers except National Open. However, tournament committee may increase the number of chukkers depending on the availability of horses.
  14. Payment of Club, Membership (Capitation) Fee, Eligibility and Publishing Names in PPA Yellow Book (Auth: PPA ECM held on 7 May 2016). After deliberate discussion the house, decided following:-
  15. Clubs have to pay their club fee before forwarding handicapping list for next FY.
  16. Names of only those players will be published in next FY PPA Yellow Book, who have paid their Membership (capitation) fee Rs.5000.00 per player for current FY through their respective clubs.
  17. Non payers will neither be allowed to play any PPA tournaments / club tournaments, nor allowed to attend PPA / Clubs meetings, till the time their outstanding capitation fee is paid and NOC along with present handicap is issued by PPA.
  18. PPA will not carry out handicapping of foreign players (Auth: PPA ECM held on 6 May 2017).
  19. Colour of Team Shirts.

    The Colours of the Association is “Green” and no Team (including Army) will wear Green Colour Shirt within Pakistan or Abroad without prior approval of PPA (Auth: Para 4 Page 1 PPA Constitution 1984).
